Stochastic Optimization of Microgrid Operation With Renewable Generation and Energy Storages

The operation of energy storage systems (ESSs) in power where variable renewable sources (VRESs) and ESSs must contribute to securing the supply, can be considered as an arbitrage against scarcity. value using stored instantly balanced its potential future risk This paper proposes a multi-stage stochastic programming model for microgrids with VRESs, thermal generators that is divided into short- long-term model. short-term utilizes information from forecasts updated every six hours, while considers beyond forecast horizon. solved dual dynamic Markov chains, results show significance accounting uncertainty increases high degree generation limited dispatchable capacity.
